MADESHIP – cooperation between The School of Design and MADE BY VACULIK

The School of Design, in cooperation with the advertising agency MADE BY VACULIK, organizes an annual professional practice focused on the implementation of specific assignments for specific clients every year. Thanks to this cooperation and the contribution of experts from MADE BY VACULIK, students gain irreplaceable feedback and experience with the process of solving and implementing real assignments. Thanks to the MADESHIP project, they apply their knowledge and skills in practice, get acquainted with the work of professionals and expand their portfolio of design products. Through creative practice, they also increase their credit in the labor market, gain contacts and important references. Authors of the highest quality proposals and design solutions also receive a representative official award for their work and the opportunity to complete an internship in a renowned advertising agency. The results of the cooperation so far have been, for example, PF for AeroMobil company, proposals of creative solutions for the presentation and promotion of Tesco supermarkets at the Pohoda festival, a campaign for the Proti prúdu association solving the problem of homelessness, the design of student payment cards for Tatra banka or a campaign for the participation of first-time voters in elections to the European Parliament.

However, the practise in 2021 was not related to the propositions of campaigns or design products as it had been so in the previous years. We focused our attention to the young people themselves because we are interested in the way how they are personally touched by the actual situation. The instructions were to create a video-reflexion in the length of 10 seconds each which was about to show their own actual being and the result is this website. The COVIDEA project was profesionally, organizationally and humanly supported and secured by Peter Ižo, creative director MADE BY VACULIK, Ada Šimšíková, account director MADE BY VACULIK, Dalibor Bača, Director of the Centre of Specialised Education and On-the-Job Training, Filip Humaj, pedagogue and the admin of website and head teachers of departments at School of Design Peter Ilčík, Marianna Kajabová, Jana Kirschnerová, Michal Mečár, Martin Snopek, Róbert Szegény, Lukáš Šafář, Kristína Vargová, Tomáš Vicen a Roman Balko.
